General Business Strategy

While the long-term goal of Mingnergy is to become a VPP-enabled DER Solution Provider, the first near-term goal is to find a pilot site for a C&I customer in the U.S. and have a trial commercial operation to facilitate future sales and marketing activities.

We need to secure sufficient fundings in the U.S. so as to effectively group a team of professional staffs who are dedicated in development of Behind-the-Meter(BTM) VPP-enabled Distribution Energy Resource(DER) Management System (DERMS) with AI capability in load & weather forecast embedded in the edge device (gateway).

The DERMS then will integrate via 3rd-party VPP (Virtual Power Plant) platform that aggregate DERs (solar-plus-storage) and participate in U.S. wholesale electricity markets： California ISO(CAISO), Mid-continent ISO(MISO), Electricity Reliability Council of Texas(ERCOT), and PJM.

Together with a professional team and executive officers’ extensive education in electrical power and energy systems plus 20+ years of work experiences in various electricity markets, and development of professional GIS-based web platform, Mingnergy LLC is capable of providing a qualitative and robust VPP-enabled BTM DER pilot that increases C&I customers ESG fulfillment and brings  customers more revenue streams, increases ROI, and shorten payback periods, by participating at electricity market and providing services such as Demand Response (via load reduction/storage discharge) as capacity product, Energy (excess energy export) and Ancillary Service (frequency regulation/vol-var support), while ensuring the grid reliability and security.

We adopt the 3GPP Standard LTE-M/ NB-IoT Private LTE(pLTE) Cellular IoT wireless communication Network for public / municipal electric Utility use cases in DER, AMI, and potentially FI (Fault Indicator) for wildfire mitigation plan or increase distribution grid situation awareness, and more scenarios.

We can also offer the AMI solution with support from a premier 4G equipment manufacture vendor who is also the main AMI service provider for Taiwan Power Company AMI rollouts. Note that other use cases can be explored and cooperated to develop a robust product for enhancing the situational awareness on grid assets health, visibility on grid operating condition, and effective preventive maintenance scheduling.
